Ingredients

  • 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls one package; keep the rolls connected while slicing
  • 3/4 pound deli ham cooked and thinly sliced
  • 3/4 pound Swiss cheese thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup butter unsalted, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 2 teaspoons dried minced onion
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper or to taste
  • cooking spray for the foil-lined pan

Instructions

  • Heat the oven to 350°F. Line a 9×9-inch or 9×13-inch pan with aluminum foil and spray it with cooking spray.
  • With a large serrated knife, cut the connected rolls horizontally into a slab of tops and a slab of bottoms. Put the bottom slab in the pan.
  • Layer half the ham over the rolls, add the Swiss cheese, then layer on the remaining ham. Replace the top slab of rolls.
  • Melt the butter. Whisk in the Dijon mustard, poppy seeds, dried onion, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper.
  • Pour the butter mixture slowly and evenly over the rolls, spreading it across the tops. Cover with foil and let stand at room temperature for 5 minutes.
  • Bake covered for about 20 minutes, then uncover and bake for about 3 to 5 minutes more. The cheese should be melted and the sliders hot. Check that the center reaches 165°F with a food thermometer. Cut along the roll lines and serve.

Notes

The total includes a 5-minute stand before baking. To make ahead, refrigerate the assembled sliders and the butter topping separately for up to 1 day.
