Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup onion diced
  • 1 tbsp garlic minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 5 medium potatoes thinly sliced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup 10.7 oz
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup 10.7 oz
  • 1 can evaporated milk 12 oz
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheese

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a 9x13 baking dish.
  • Brown ground beef with onion and garlic. Drain and season with salt and pepper.
  • Whisk together both soups, evaporated milk, and regular milk.
  • Layer potatoes, half the beef, half the soup mixture, and half the cheese.
  • Repeat layers, ending with cheese on top.
  • Cover loosely with foil and bake for 60 minutes.
  • Remove foil and bake an additional 30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  • Let rest 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Slice potatoes evenly for consistent cooking. For extra flavor, use sharp cheddar cheese.
