Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons seasoned salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 3 cups Corn Chex cereal
  • 3 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 3 cups Wheat Chex cereal
  • 1 cup mixed nuts
  • 1 cup bite-size pretzels
  • 1 cup garlic bagel chips bite-size, or regular bagel chips broken into 1-inch pieces

Instructions

  • Heat the oven to 250°F.
  • Put the butter in a large roasting pan and set it in the oven until melted.
  • Take the pan out and stir in the Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Add the Corn, Rice, and Wheat Chex, nuts, pretzels, and bagel chips a little at a time, stirring gently after each addition until evenly coated. If you do not have a roasting pan, toss everything in a large bowl and spread it in a single layer on two parchment-lined baking sheets.
Step 4: Three kinds of Chex, nuts, pretzels, and bagel chips evenly coated in seasoned butter.
  • Bake for 1 hour, stirring well every 15 minutes so the pieces toast evenly. If any pieces still feel damp after 1 hour, bake for 15 minutes more.
Step 5: Baked Chex mix in the roasting pan, evenly toasted and dry.
  • Spread the hot mix on paper towels and let it cool for 15 minutes, until completely cool to the touch.
Step 6: Baked Chex mix spread out on paper towels to cool completely.
  • Once completely cool, spoon the mix into an airtight container.

Notes

Cool completely before sealing. Store airtight in a cool pantry for up to 2 weeks, or freeze in a hard-sided freezer-safe container for up to 3 months and thaw at room temperature. USDA FSIS recommends a cool, dry place for shelf-stable foods; below 85°F is best.
